Should be the best year yet for the Alison Arms Free Folk Festival. Great lineup for the main stage with the Anthony John Clarke Band, Marie Little and the Houghton Weavers headlining the three evening and Ken Nicol and Jez Lowe at the top of the billing for the afternoon concerts. Every event free and all happen within the confines of a small pub with camping just 50 yards away. The legendary singarounds will go on late into the night after the main event finishes.
In the midst of the concert area at the folk festival there was a robin's nest hidden in a clump of ivy. Perhaps you noticed the parents trying to work up the courage to get to the nest through the people, beaks full of grub for the chicks. The ivy was the second choice location for this family, they started out in the greenhouse, but moved because fo too much human activity.

Stone the Crows to raid the Alison Arms
Our scouts tell us that Stone the Crows will be raiding the Alison Arms at 8pm on Thursday 7 June. Expect raucous music, wild dancing and the odd bit of violence, but only on other members of this fantastic Morris side from Leyland.
