Introduction

All the Alison Arms Free Folk Festival sessiona are free of charge including camping. We are grateful to several sponsors who help us keep it this way and to Chorley Borough Council who allow us to use the Chisnall Playing Fields free of charge for camping.

This is a single venue festival aimed at attracting a couple of hundred people.  All the events occur in the grounds of the Alison Arms, after the evening shows the singaround is likely to continue in some form well into the night.

The format of the festival is to change for 2008, many people have requested more singarounds and workshops so for 2008 main stage performances will be only in the evenings. The afternoons will have workshops of vary sorts and singarounds.

The list of performers will be published soon. Look for the final programme in mid-May.

The festival proper will start the evening of Friday 6 June, We do have the facility to open camping from the Wednesday, If you would like to camp from Wednesday please contact Simon or Sandra on 01942 418030. We will have our usual singaround Wednesday night and the Border Morris side Stone the Crows will perform on Thursday evening. If people are staying then will organise some relaxed events for Thursday and Friday afternoons and a singaround after the dancing on Thursday.
